We understand it is often difficult to get a foot on the career ladder within the not-for-profit sector. Job requirements can be quite specific and there is often no textbook training.
Paid internships offered within our London office help people prepare for a career within the sector. There are a variety of roles which change yearly and run for six months – long enough to gain valuable skills and meaningful workplace experiences which are highly transferable within the sector and beyond.

How our internships are structured
Internships are based in our London office during normal office hours, Monday to Friday. They can be completed on a full time basis for six months, or on a part time basis where the equivalent number of hours is spread over a longer duration. Interns will need to be able to commit to the full duration of the internship.
Interns are paid the London Living Wage and are entitled to paid holiday and sick pay. They are also eligible to join the Greenpeace pension scheme. As the internship is paid, lunch and travel expenses within London are not covered.
Unfortunately, Greenpeace is unable to cover the costs of travel or relocation to London to take part in our internship programmes. We also cannot provide help with finding or funding accommodation for the duration of the internship programme.
We can make no guarantees that a position will become available at Greenpeace following completion of your internship. However, it is as much our aim as it is yours that this experience will increase your employment options and open up further opportunities for you.
How to apply
Organisations work better with fresh perspectives and a diverse range of contributors. This is why a key focus of our internship programme is to open up opportunities for people who are underrepresented in the not-for-profit sector.
To recruit great interns, we partner with three organisations: Creative Access, Windsor Fellowship and Change 100, which are experts in placing people from diverse and underrepresented groups within internships. People of any age or educational background are welcome to apply.
We do not currently advertise our internships on our careers site – all opportunities are advertised through the agencies listed above. If you are interested in an internship with Greenpeace, you will need to apply through one of these organisations.
Most internships are advertised towards the beginning of the year, with the intention of interns starting throughout the spring and summer period. Not all internships are advertised at the same time, so do keep checking back with the above organisations if you have not yet found the right opportunity for you.
